Mandarin Officially Opens in Prague
DECEMBER 1, 2006. The Golden City celebrated the official launch of Mandarin Oriental, Prague yesterday with a lavish event attended by some 400 celebrities, dignitaries and society guests.
The list of attendees included Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, international musician and Mandarin Oriental fan, Vanessa-Mae and Mary McCartney, Mandarin Oriental's official photographer of its award-winning advertising campaign. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Chief Executive, Edouard Ettedgui and General Manager, Clemens Hoerth welcomed guests to the gala which began in the hotel's elegant Monastery Lounge.
In keeping with the luxury hotel group's oriental origins, yet reflecting Mandarin Oriental, Prague's strong sense of place, the reception featured entertainment from traditional Shanghainese mask performers and music from renowned Ondrej Havelka & His Melody Makers.
The festivities also included a lavish dine-around experience, and guests were invited to explore the Spa, signatureEssensia restaurant and chic Barego bar before trying their luck at winning a weekend for two at Mandarin Oriental, Prague or the celebrated Mandarin Oriental, New York.
