Pegasus Upgrades HotelFactory
NOVEMBER 14, 2006.Pegasus Solutions has introduced new availability and pricing displays for its HotelFactory(TM) central reservation system (CRS), including a Calendar View, Table View and Inheritance View.
These upgrades are introduced to HotelFactory following a nearly 90 percent jump in enrollment this year, including a 435 percent increase in the Asia-Pacific region alone. HotelFactory's new upgrades will help the more than 5,400 hotels worldwide using the product, maximize revenue and growth with access to the most up-to-date and reliable CRS tailored to the needs of smaller chains and hotel groups.
The availability views improve HotelFactory's ease of use by offering various options for managing inventory and monitoring a property's status at-a-glance with one-page display, color-coded true availability displays, one-click inheritance sourcing for pricing structures and rate values, reservation rankings and detailed restriction displays. Part of the offering for representation with Unirez by Pegasus(TM), HotelFactory is an easy-to-use integrated suite of management and distribution tools with an integrated Internet booking engine.
Robert Bayless, creator of HotelFactory and Pegasus vice president of product management, says the new upgrades maximize the product's ability to lead the industry in processing alternative distribution system and global distribution system (GDS) messages for hotels, travel agents and travel consumers.
"HotelFactory is consistently generating nearly 3 million transaction messages per day," Bayless said. "Couple that with these new upgrades, an uptime of 99.98 percent since its introduction in October 1999, and an industry-leading response time, and you begin to understand why this product has seen enrollment increase by about 90 percent in 2006."
A third of HotelFactory's portfolio is in the Americas region, a third is in Europe, and a third is in the Asia-Pacific region, which has seen the greatest recent enrollment increase. Earlier this year, the product also introduced improvements allowing hotels using HotelFactory to make rates and inventory available to travel agents with the "next generation seamless" technology being implemented by the GDSs.
"Our goal is for HotelFactory to facilitate reservations and bookings for hotels, while also making the booking and shopping process easier for travel agents and consumers," Bayless added. "These pricing and availability upgrades do this without compromising the product's leading performance."
Pegasus will be conducting comprehensive training programs for HotelFactory and its new features in major sites around the world through two courses, including "HotelFactory" and "Optimize Your Room Revenue." More information is available by visiting www.pegs.com.
