KSL Adds Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa
LA QUINTA, CA, November 10, 2006. KSL Resorts, which continues to make its mark in the hospitality industry owning and operating some of the most famous resorts in the world, has added yet another celebrated property to its collection - the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa in Vail, CO. The charming, newly renovated hotel, which will continue to operate as an independent resort, joins a stable of preeminent properties in the current KSL Resorts collection: La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA, Hotel del Coronado in San Diego and Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, CA. By year's end, the legendary Homestead in Hot Springs, VA and Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, TX will join the resort company as well.
"Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa is the perfect compliment to our portfolio of existing hotels," said Scott Dalecio, president and chief executive officer of KSL Resorts. "With the addition of a resort in one of the country's preeminent ski destinations, KSL Resorts now offers guests a wide range of unrivaled spa, golf and ski vacation experiences."
Opened in 1978, the 24-room Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa is situated in the heart of Vail Village just steps away from skiing, shopping and dining. Providing the perfect retreat for skiers and riders, the property recently completed a $25 million enhancement program which included the refurbishment of all public areas and guest rooms. Housing the acclaimed Vail Athletic Club, a full-service spa and the award-winning restaurant Terra Bistro, featuring innovative fusion cuisine made from the finest organic and natural ingredients, the property represents KSL Resorts' first venture in Colorado.
"This is an exciting time for KSL Resorts," said Arthur Berg, KSL Resorts' vice president of marketing. "The addition of Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa to our portfolio is only a glimpse of what's to come. As a company, we will continue to seek out and identify unique and memorable resorts to bring to our guests."
