FX Real Estate and Entertainment Becomes Partner of Cornell Center for Hospitality Research

. October 14, 2008

ITHACA, NY, September 8, 2008. The developer of the Park Central site in Las Vegas and the Graceland project in Memphis is the newest corporate partner of Cornell's Center for Hospitality Research. FX Real Estate and Entertainment (FXRE), which holds an 18-acre parcel of land in Las Vegas, also holds the rights to use the intellectual property associated with Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali. Paul Kanavos, the firm's president, will join the center's advisory board.

"Cornell's center is a consistent provider of information for the hospitality industry, including real estate and gaming, which are our chief interests," said Kanavos. "We seek to help Cornell increase its research reach."

"The addition of Paul Kanavos and FX Real Estate and Entertainment as a partner provides an additional dimension to the center's advisory board," noted Jennifer Macera, associate director of the Center for Hospitality Research. "We look forward to his contribution to our research studies." Advisory board members meet with center researchers to examine prospective and existing studies.

In addition to its Las Vegas real estate interests, FX Real Estate and Entertainment has license agreements that allow the firm to use the intellectual property of Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali in developing its real estate and entertainment attractions. The company also has an agreement to develop hotels as part of the master plan to redevelop the Graceland property in Memphis. FXRE, through direct and indirect wholly owned subsidiaries, also holds a substantial amount of Riviera Holdings Corporation, which owns and operates the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Blackhawk Casino in Blackhawk, Colorado.
