Carlson Adds 17 Properties to Global Portfolio

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, August 27, 2008. Carlson Hotels Worldwide announced the addition of 17 locations to its global portfolio during June and July 2008.

The new hotels include seven new Radisson properties opened across the globe in Panama, China, India and Mali, and also include three Radisson SAS hotels in Switzerland, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. Ten Country Inn & Suites By CarlsonSM hotels were also opened in the United States, including the brand's first hotel in Grand Forks, S.D. In 2008, Carlson Hotels has added 52 properties and 6,733 guest rooms bringing its current global lodging portfolio to 995 hotels with 149,174 rooms in 74 countries. Carlson hotel brands also include Regent Hotels & Resorts, Park Plaza(R) Hotels & Resorts and Park Inn.

"These openings reflect the continued worldwide growth of our brands as we approach the landmark of 1,000 properties that will be surpassed later this year," said Jay Witzel, president and CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide. Country Inns & Suites By Carlson

The addition of 10 Country Inn & Suites By Carlson locations has increased the brand presence to 456 hotels and more than 36,400 guest rooms. All of the new properties are located in the United States, and include:

o The 100-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Grand Forks, N.D., the brand's first property in the city, is owned by Portage, LLC. The hotel features an indoor pool, fitness room, and 40-person capacity meeting room.

All rooms offer complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access and a 42" plasma TV, microwave and refrigerator.

o The 61-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Red Wing, Minn. is owned by Red Wing Lodging, LLC.

o The 65-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Sumter, S.C. is owned by PSM Hospitality Group, LLC.

o The Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Rochester-Brighton, owned by Garuda Hotels, Inc., has 89 guest rooms.

o The 87-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Marinette, Wis. is owned by is MARWI, LLC.

o The 70-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Albany, Ga. is owned by SAGU, LLC.

o The Country Inn & Suites By Carlson O'Fallon, Ill., owned by PS Hospitality of St. Louis LLC, has 66 rooms.

o The 74-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Fairburn, Ga. is owned by OM Investment LLC.

o The 120-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Atlanta at Buckhead is owned by Georgia Hotel Group, L.L.C.

o The 82-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Savannah Airport is owned by Savannah Hospitality, LLC.

Each hotel features the brand's newly enhanced interior design package that was developed with input from guests and franchisees to evolve the brand and ensure it meets the needs of today's travelers. The new design highlights a more transitional and residential style, features a contemporary color palate throughout the hotel, and includes upgraded bedding in the guest rooms. In addition to the upgraded design, each hotel includes traditional brand design elements, including hardwood floors and a fireplace in the grand lobby.
