Dolce to Manage Hotel Tetherow, Bend, OR
New Destination Resort,
MONTVALE, NJ, October 11, 2006. Dolce International, the global hospitality company specializing in the meetings experience for its customers, and Arrowood Development have signed an agreement for Dolce to manage a new destination resort in Bend, Oregon. Arrowood, a local real estate development company, appointed Dolce to direct the entire project from concept, architectural design, construction, through its opening and daily operations. Hotel Tetherow, scheduled to open in spring 2009, is the 23rd property in the Dolce portfolio of hotels, resorts and conference destinations.
Hotel Tetherow is expected to set a new standard for hospitality in Bend, providing a 150-room, four-star hotel with 50 adjoining, high end cabins for overnight rentals, spa, restaurant, meeting space, a members' clubhouse, 379 single-family homes and 210 town homes. For on-site recreation, the resort will feature two outdoor swimming pools, a fitness center, and an 18-hole championship golf course designed by David McLay Kidd--the award-winning architect of Bandon Dunes in Oregon. He is currently finishing construction on the new #7 course at St. Andrews for the St. Andrews Links Trust in Scotland.
"We are very excited to be working with Arrowood Development on this project from the ground up," said Andy Dolce, chairman and managing partner of Dolce International. "Bend's exceptional beauty makes it an ideal destination for discerning meeting groups. We believe Dolce's brand of focused learning, luxury hospitality and highly personalized service is a perfect fit for this sophisticated mountain resort. We look forward to making Arrowood's vision for the resort a reality as we add yet another exceptional property to the Dolce portfolio."
Portland-based architecture firm Ankrom Moisan will design Hotel Tetherow. The firm is known for designing high-profile resorts in the Northwest, including Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington (a one time Dolce property); the Lucia Hotel in Portland; and the Salishan Spa in Gleneden Beach, Oregon, among others.
