Vista Inns Supported by InnLink and Innformation Systems

Commitment to PCI Compliance

NASHVILLE, TN, July 18, 2008. At the VISTA annual conference located here, an educational session was held on PCI Compliance with speakers Kristin Intress, InnLink Central Reservation Services and Al Blazing, Innformation Systems. “Vista Hospitality Solutions is focused on ensuring our properties have the information and tools to be successful in understanding the importance and impact of PCI Compliance. This session with our strategic partners was a key step in providing that value,” Kelly Harvel, Executive Vice-President stated.

“It really all comes down to the hotel processes,” states Al Blazing, Innformation Systems, “You need a secure credit card process. All credit card numbers on a pms system should be truncated and all credit cards sent to the processor should be encypted. This makes the credit card process secure and the encrypted token is worthless for any one trying to highjack credit card data.”

There is a lot of information to understand. “We provide appropriate resources and summaries of the requirements so hotels can get to the right information and processes,” states Kristin Intress, InnLink Central Reservation Services, “As a hotel’s partner we feel it’s important to provide resources to assist the hotel in being successful – in reservations, revenue and PCI compliance.”

Foodies Take Flight to Fractional Resorts

By Tom LaTour, Principal, LaTour Signature Group

Most of us eat three meals a day, 365 days a year for a total of 1,095 dining experiences. Surely some of these should be memorable, and that’s a key goal for managers at fractional interest resorts. Restaurants and food service are without a doubt the most competitive aspects of the fiercely spirited luxury resort hotel industry...

Room Service Add-ons that Make Money

By Professor Marcel R. Escoffier, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Florida International University, Miami, Florida.

Room Service should always be a money maker. The necessity to have 24 hour room service in order to have five stars doesn’t mean that the F+B Director can throw up his or her hands and allow it to lose money. I’ve mentioned in previous articles how to keep costs in line in this area. But I hope that you consider adopting some of the money making ideas other hotels have used to make this a profit center...
