Super 8 Revs Up with Pit Stop Challenge

MAY 8, 2008. Thanks to its affiliation with NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte, the Super 8 lodging chain is bringing the excitement of this year’s racing season home with Bobby Labonte’s Pit Stop Challenge Competition, an online game accessed by visiting www.labonteslaw.com.

Players are challenged to make a pit stop, make repairs and get back in the race as fast as they can. The three top-scoring players each month will be eligible to win gift cards from the Petty Enterprises race shop. The top scorer from each month will be eligible to participate in online tournaments.

Grand-prize winners will get the chance to meet Bobby Labonte and Richard Petty, a racing legend with 200 career victories. Grand-prize packages will be awarded during two periods, March 31 to June 30 and July 1 to Sept. 30.

The grand prize for the first period is a trip to Mooresville, N.C., that includes an insider’s tour of the new Petty Enterprises race shop and a chance to play the Pit Stop Challenge Competition with Labonte and his pit crew. Grand prize for the second period is a November trip to a NASCAR race in Fort Worth, Texas, as guests of Labonte and Petty.

Both grand prize packages include three nights’ lodging, airfare, meals and two gift certificates to the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Contest rules and prize details are available at www.labonteslaw.com.

“We are proud to be affiliated with Bobby Labonte and Pit Stop Challenge Competition,” said John Valletta, Super 8 president. “Our more than 2,000 hotels worldwide are waiting to greet race fans and our other guests with clean and comfortable rooms at affordable rates.”

During his two seasons as driver of the No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge for Petty Enterprises, Labonte led the team through a revival that culminated in an 18th place finish in the 2007 Sprint Cup standings. That finish was the best for a Petty Enterprises entry since 1999. More details about the team are available at www.labonteslaw.com.

Reservations and information are available by calling (800) 800-8000 or at www.super8.com. All Super 8 motels are independently owned and operated under franchise agreements with Super 8 Worldwide, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN.)
