Joseph F. Smith Named President of Alliance Hospitality

Formerly President of Boykin Management Company

RALEIGH, NC, May 6, 2008. Alliance Hospitality Management LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph F. Smith as its new President. Mr. Smith will have overall responsibility for Alliance Hospitalities 48 properties in 18 states. Mr. Smith was most recently the President of Boykin Management Company.

A 25 year veteran of the industry Mr. Smith has held a variety of industry positions including Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Boykin Lodging Company (NYSE:BOY), Regional Vice President of Operations, General Manager of Marriott Hotels in Cleveland, and Columbus, OH as well as Corporate Food and Beverage Director.

Mr. Smith has been a member of IACC (International Association of Conference Centers) and HAMA (Hotel Asset Managers Association). Mr. Smith holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Smith has held previous positions with TGI Friday’s and American Airlines. Raleigh based Alliance Hospitality Management LLC manages properties under the; Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Suites, Homewood Suites, Comfort Inns and Holiday Inn brands.
