"Mexico is a country that signifies so much for the success of our company," said Mullen during the day's meetings. "We thank the government of Quintana Roo for their investment in the US market." Apple Vacations carries the most visitors to the Cancun region than any other US Tour Operator.

Govenor Gonz'alez Canto commented on how Apple Vacations has a true dedication to the destination that has assisted in launching and maintaining its growth. A growth that has supported further hotel and tourism development.

Mullen was the first recipient of the "Pioneer of Cancun Award" bestowed by the city of Cancun. Mr. Mullen was recognized for his vision in seeing Cancun as the world-class resort that it is today.

As one of the original founders of the destination, Mullen related to the time he arrived in Cancun 28 years ago and envisioned the potential even then. "It's the natural resources, the tourism infastructure and especially the people that make this amazing relationship possible." Since the company's inception, Apple Vacations has been increasing the number of visitors to Cancun and Riviera Maya year after year.

Lic. F'elix Gonz'alez Canto and his delegation also met with the executive team of AMResorts, one of the region's fastest growing all-inclusive resort companies with 11 resorts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico under the Secrets Resorts & Spas, Dreams Resorts & Spas, and Sunscape Resorts & Spas brand. The company currently has five resorts in the State of Quintana Roo.

AMResorts Executive Vice President Gonzalo del Peon announced the company's plans for its sixth resort in the region, Dreams Maroma to Governor Gonz'alez Canto. "We are excited about our growth in your region," said del Peon to Governor Gonz'alez Canto.

Quintana Roo has proven to be such a successful area for our luxury resort brands," comments del Peon. "We are pleased to be able to announce the plans for the new Dreams Maroma, yet another, opulent resort in a highly desirable destination catering to a high-end clientele." Maroma Beach was voted the 'Best Beach in the World' by the Travel Channel in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
