. October 14, 2008

AUGUST 24, 2006. With the addition of its latest 5* hotel - the InterContinental Resort - Taba Heights is now even better equipped for groups of any size. One of the newest and most beautiful resort destinations on the Sinai Peninsula, Taba Heights offers an idyllic backdrop for any business meeting or incentive event.

Taba Heights Resort offers a total of five hotels, four of which are 5* and offer a range of business facilities and services to cater for the modern corporate event or incentive.

The InterContinental Resort Taba Heights opened in April 2006 and occupies a prime location along the shoreline of Taba Heights. Offering separate group check-in facilities, the hotel provides a business centre with a boardroom, breakout room and two meeting rooms. The Pearl room has a capacity of 40-160 and provides a versatile area of 154m^2. The 800m^2 Coral Room offers open-air meeting space, resulting in 100% natural lighting with capacity for 100-750 people in a variety of layout styles. The hotel also offers a dedicated meetings team who can organise different events, such as themed Arabian or Bedouin nights.

The Hyatt Regency offers some of the largest conference facilities available in Taba Heights. A 228m^2 multi-purpose and fully equipped conference room can accommodate up to 110 guests for a gala dinner, 150 for a conference and 120 for a cocktail reception. In addition, gala dinners can be held surrounding the upper pool terrace, complete with ambient lighting and beautiful views. A team of professional and friendly staff are always on hand and can organise themed events, such as a traditional Bedouin evening at the foothills of the Sinai Mountains. Guests are seated on comfortable carpets and cushions, either in the shelter of a Bedouin tent or simply alfresco under the stars. Served at low wooden tables by local Bedouins in traditional galabiya robes of the region, guests can enjoy a delicious and authentic Bedouin feast, including mezzas and handmade bread. The whole evening is enhanced by folkloric entertainment.

The Marriott Beach Resort is another 5* property located along the Taba Heights beachfront catering for business events, providing three meeting rooms and 331m^2 in total space. The largest individual room is 216m^2 and can cater for up to 180 seated. All offer the latest facilities and technology, as well as additional services such as a business centre, concierge, private offices, translators and secretarial services.

The Sofitel Taba Heights completes the MICE facilities available within the resort of Taba Heights. The hotel offers three meeting rooms, which can cater for 12-200 people in a variety of room arrangements. The three rooms have floor spaces of 29m^2, 132 m^2 and 183 m^2, with the larger two also having ceiling heights of over 7m. The sizes mean the spaces are very flexible and can be used for meetings, conventions, product launches and presentations, as required. A dedicated team of staff are on hand to help with anything and copying/print services, fax and internet are all provided.

Aside from meetings, Taba Heights offers a host of activities for delegates to enjoy after or in between days of work. In and around the hotels and resort, there are over 32 bars and restaurants, pools, spa and gym facilities, shopping arcades, tennis and squash courts and 5km of sandy beachfront. In addition, activities such as quad biking into the desert, diving in the Red Sea, water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, parasailing, wakeboarding, fishing, canoeing, camel riding and golf (course opening October 2006) are also available. Similarly, cultural excursions to Petra, Cairo, the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and St Catherine's Mount are possible for groups.

Ultimately, Taba Heights' guaranteed sunshine and average temperatures of 27^0C make it an ideal meetings destination whatever the time of year. It enables groups to mix the best of business with pleasure to ensure successful events.
