LAHAINA, HI. October 25, 2017 - Conde Nast Traveler announced the results of its 30th annual Readers' Choice Awards with Kaanapali Beach Hotel recognized as the #4 hotel and its sister property, The Plantation Inn, as the #2 in the “Top 12 Hotels in Hawaii” category. Kaanapali Beach Hotel received an overall score of 90.54, and The Plantation Inn received a score of 93.66, marking its debut on the list. Only three Maui properties received this top ranking in the hotel category.

“We are honored to receive this accolade from the readers of Conde Nast Traveler for Kaanapali Beach Hotel and The Plantation Inn.” said General Manager Mike White. “These awards are a huge achievement and even more special as this is the first time The Plantation has been noted. This is a testament to our tireless staff who work hard every day to ensure that both properties convey the spirit of aloha to our guests.”

Over 300,000 readers submitted millions of ratings and tens of thousands of comments, voting on a record-breaking 7,320 hotels and resorts, 610 cities, 225 islands, 468 cruise ships, 158 airlines, and 195 airports.

The beachfront 432-room KaanapaIi Beach Hotel is set majestically on a three-mile stretch of sandy beach along the sunny western shores of Maui, deeming it an ideal setting for a memorable experience steeped within Hawaiian culture. The hotel's newly refreshed Hale Hookipa (cultural center) recently introduced new cultural activities for guests including kaula (cordage), ohe hano ihu (bamboo nose flute), ohe kapala (bamboo printing) and 'upena kiloi (throw- net), all of which celebrate ancient Hawaiian practices. To ensure the retention of its status as “Hawaii's most Hawaiian Hotel,” Kaanapali Beach Hotel instituted a program called Po'okela in 1986 to reinforce Hawaiian values in the hotel's daily activities. Each year staff members are educated about Hawaii's culture through classes that cover Hawaiian language, history, local plants, arts, song and other areas.

The Plantation Inn is Maui's premier boutique bed and breakfast, situated in the historic district of Lahaina and less than two blocks from the Pacific Ocean and world famous Front Street. The adults-only quiet and luxurious property features 18-intimate rooms and suites marked by plantation style decor and modern amenities. The inn is home to Gerard's Restaurant, a Forbes 4-Star French restaurant offering contemporary island French cuisine.

The Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.” Under Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán, the Readers' Choice Awards have become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today's travelers.

The Readers' Choice Awards are announced in the November issue of Conde Nast Traveler, on newsstands nationwide on October 24, 2017. The full list is published exclusively online, at www.CNTraveler.com/rca.
