Historic Hilton Chicago Completes Final Phase of $150 Million Renovation

CHICAGO, IL. October 24, 2017 - The historic 1,544 room Hilton Chicago, located on Michigan Avenue across from Grant Park, announces the completion of a $7 million renovation enhancing the third-floor meeting spaces and Salon C in the Stevens Meeting Center leading to the finalization of an all-encompassing $150 million renovation and restoration initiative.

Recognized as one of the city's most revered addresses since 1927, Hilton Chicago continues to celebrate its storied past by blending the hotel's classic architecture with a new contemporary style as it celebrates its 90th anniversary. Conceptualized by Looney & Associates, the newly debuted design was inspired by Chicago's founding motto, Urbs in Horto, which translates to City in a Garden.

The renovation brings a full transformation to the third floor, which is home to seven separate meeting rooms ideal for small meetings to medium sized conferences accommodating up to 850 guests.

Spanning over 28,000 square feet, Salon C is one of four meeting rooms in the 119,000-square-foot Stevens Meeting Center.

The property completed a renovation of its 10,080-square-foot Continental Ballroom. With a capacity of up to 1,350 guests, the flexible reception area can double as registration and reception.

Other notable renovations totaling to $150 million include 600 accommodations featuring two beds and two bathrooms, thirteen specialty suites, and a $1.8 million restoration of the 5,000-square-foot Conrad Hilton Suite, the largest suite in the Midwest. Additionally, the property features a newly revamped, fully furnished sun deck, located adjacent to the pool, complete with outdoor daybeds, lounge chairs and views of the cityscape.

Home to one of the largest ballrooms in the city, Hilton Chicago offers 234,000 square feet of versatile meeting space including distinguished executive board rooms spanning 260 square feet to 697 square feet, smaller breakout spaces ranging between 960 square feet and 2,976 square feet, and multiple office spaces sized between 228 square feet and 697 square feet. In efforts to elevate the service of groups, an elevator bank of 14 separate cabs expedites the transition between meeting rooms for a seamless experience. With ballrooms ranging from 10,080 square feet to 21,996 square feet, the Grand Ballroom has hosted every United States President.
