CHULA VISTA, CA. October 17, 2017 - Baldwin & Sons, the builder and developer creating thriving communities for Southern California families since 1956, today announced the completion and grand opening of the new Marriott Residence Inn Chula Vista hotel in the heart of the Otay Ranch. The new hotel will be open to the public on October 13 and a Grand Opening celebration will be held on October 19.

The new hotel is the first in Otay Ranch and offers 148 rooms presented in 108 spacious studios (both King and Double Queen beds available), 32 one-bedroom options and eight two-bedroom units featuring separate living and sleeping areas that mimic the upscale design of a modern home. The 102,000-square-foot hotel sits on a 3.3-acre site and offers 157 parking spaces for visitors.

The hotel's full suite of amenities includes a swimming pool, spa, meeting/conference room, sport court, fitness room, breakfast buffet and dining room, lounge/social area, outdoor BBQs, outdoor patio and fire pit area, lobby with fireplace, guest laundry, and a self-service market. Guests will also enjoy free Wi-Fi.

“The time is right for a new hotel in Chula Vista to accommodate the growing demand for hospitality services in the region,” said Al Baldwin, founder and CEO of Baldwin & Sons. “The Marriott Residence Inn brand provides a consistent and quality overnight experience for both business travelers and vacationers and we are proud to bring this important offering to Otay Ranch by Baldwin & Sons.”

The Marriott Residence Inn Chula Vista will provide convenient stays for travelers coming from the newly completed Cross Border Express (CBX), an enclosed pedestrian skywalk bridge exclusively for Tijuana Airport passengers who cross the U.S./Mexico border as part of their trip. It will also provide accommodations for those visiting the Chula Vista Elite Athletic Training Center, Mattress Firm Amphitheater, Aquatica San Diego, and Southwestern College. Visitor demand is also expected from the nearby U.S. military as well as the shipbuilding business activity located at the 32nd Street Naval Station.

The hotel is located at 2005 Centerpark Road within the award winning Otay Ranch development, a pedestrian-friendly, 23,000-acre planned community that combines the best of traditional American neighborhoods with the latest in community design. The hotel is situated adjacent to the Otay Ranch Town Center, which offers numerous retail, restaurant and entertainment options. Additionally, the hotel sits just 15 miles from vibrant downtown San Diego within Chula Vista, which boasts numerous notable dining, shopping, and area attractions.

Baldwin & Sons will be hosting a grand opening reception for the Marriott Residence Inn Chula Vista onsite on October 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. celebrating the first hotel to open in Otay Ranch. The event will feature live music, a ribbon cutting, hotel tours and light fare.

'We look forward to welcoming the community to the debut of our new beautiful new hotel,” added Baldwin.
