. October 16, 2017

ST. KITTS, KN. October 16, 2017 - Park Hyatt St. Kitts announces industry visionary Flor van der Vaart as resort's new General Manager. Van der Vaart will lead the executive team to a monumental November 1st opening of the brand's inaugural Caribbean property, and island's first luxury beach resort.

A hospitality veteran, Flor van der Vaart has a passion for the Caribbean, and will now call St. Kitts his home once more. From 2008 to 2011, he served as General Manager of the 400+ room Marriott St. Kitts Golf & Casino Beach Resort. Most recently, van der Vaart served as the VP of Room Operations for Hyatt in the America's corporate division. He played an integral role redefining brand standards through the launch of three new brands: Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Centric, and pioneering guest experience programs. Over the course of two years, with van der Vaart's strategic direction, three teams launched the brand's new Guest Engagement Management tool to 140 hotels across the U.S.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Flor to the helm of the highly anticipated Park Hyatt St. Kitts opening,” said Myles McGourty, senior vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean, Hyatt. “With his extensive leadership background and Caribbean expertise, the resort is poised to thrive in the island's dynamic landscape, making St. Kitts the next 'it' destination for discerning global travelers.”

In his new role as General Manager of Park Hyatt St. Kitts, van der Vaart will oversee all property operations in the resort's current journey to opening, and beyond. Boosting the enriching and uncommon Park Hyatt experience, the 126-room, sustainably-designed property will offer three signature culinary experiences, a world-class destination spa and wellness center, and state-of-the-art event space. For the ultimate indulgence, the three-bedroom Presidential Villa will feature a private infinity pool, wellness area, personal butler and private chef.

“I am so thrilled to be returning to the island of St. Kitts, a truly multi-faceted Caribbean destination. I look forward to infusing the warmth of the Kittian culture into the personalized Park Hyatt St. Kitts vision, to curate rare and intimate experiences that inspire and excite our future guests,” said Flor van der Vaart, General Manager.
