Gurney's Newport Introduces Industry Veteran David Bodette as General Manager

Acclaimed hospitality leader manages Rhode Island's newest resort

NEWPORT, R.I. June 26, 2017 - David Bodette, an accomplished hospitality veteran with over 20 years of hotel experience, has been named General Manager of Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina. Gurney's Newport debuted in January 2017 as the only four-season resort in Newport, RI, boasting 257 rooms and suites, four restaurant outlets, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, spa, and spacious banquet space for groups and events.

Bodette brings a wealth of experience to this position with tenures including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Langham Hotel Group, Mandarin Oriental Hotels, Auberge Resorts, Viceroy Hotels & Resorts and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, Bodette spent three years at Denver's The ART, bringing outstanding opening, rebranding and luxury level brand marketing experience to the award-winning luxury hotel.
