Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau Receives Awards from Two National Publications

. February 15, 2017

CINCINNATI, OH. February 15, 2017 - The Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau was recently honored with two awards from national convention and meeting planner publications for success as a destination and as a destination marketing organization.

Prevue Meetings, a trade publication for meeting and incentive planners, named Cincinnati USA as a “Best Destination Experience.” Voted on by meeting professionals, the Visionary Awards honor forward-thinking destinations and suppliers in the industry. The magazine listed the Prevue Visionary Awards winners in its November/December 2016 issue.

The CVB was also awarded a 2016 Pinnacle Award for Best CVB/DMO from Successful Meetings. This award recognizes convention and visitors bureaus and destination marketing organizations that have excelled in professionalism and dedication to service. The Pinnacle Awards are voted on by readers of Successful Meetings, which publishes the results as a guide for meeting planners to use when selecting partners. CVBs are evaluated and awarded based on professionalism of staff, support on hotel and site inspections, assistance with ground transportation planning, guidance on local attractions and liaison with local vendors and services.

This is the 21st year that the Cincinnati USA CVB has received this award.

The CVB's awards come after a seminal year for Cincinnati as a meetings and convention destination. In 2016, Cincinnati USA hosted several large conventions, including the Church of God in Christ Auxiliaries in Ministries Convention (COGIC), the NAACP National Convention and the American Legion Annual Meeting, to name a few.

“We know that Cincinnati USA is a great place to visit or live,” said Dan Lincoln, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau. “It's gratifying to see leaders in our industry, who visit and evaluate destinations throughout the world, recognize that our region is really on the move.”

In 2016 alone, Cincinnati was ranked among the “Top 40 Places to Live” by US News, was named a “Top 10 Up and Coming City to See Now” by Huffington Post and was one of Travel + Leisure's “50 Best Places to Travel in 2017.”

As national media turn their attention to Cincinnati, so too are meeting planners and associations. In 2017, Cincinnati will host the National Field Archery Indoor Championships, the National Square Dance Convention, the National Wheelchair Games, the National Baptist Convention Annual Session and Connect Faith, among others.
