Woodside Hotels Assumes Management of Dream Inn Santa Cruz and Indian Springs Calistoga

. February 01, 2017

MENLO PARK, CA. February 1, 2017 - Woodside Hotels, California's leading operator of independent upscale hotels, restaurants and spas, has kicked off 2017 with the announcement that it will take over the management of Dream Inn Santa Cruz (www.dreaminnsantacruz.com) and Indian Springs Calistoga (www.indianspringscalistoga.com). The distinguished coastal and wine country properties are the latest additions to Woodside Hotels' expanding management portfolio of premier Northern California properties.

“Over the years, we have worked to perfect the art of operating and marketing independent hotels; hotels that are steeped in their local character and charm,” said Greg Alden, CEO of Woodside Hotels. “These two preeminent properties reflect our vision with their irreplaceable locations, deep roots in their communities and their commitment to offering memorable experience that are distinctly California.”

The Dream Inn, owned by full-service real estate solutions and investments provider, Ensemble Real Estate, is a beachfront hotel located on the famous Cowell's Beach in Santa Cruz, just a short walk to the Santa Cruz Wharf and the legendary Santa Cruz Boardwalk. The property personifies the California Coast experience, combining a fun and colorful beachfront location with comfortable, premium-quality rooms, four-star amenities and services, and a casual, laid back ambiance. The Dream Inn is Santa Cruz's only beachfront hotel with every guest room featuring a dramatic view of the Monterey Bay. It is a beloved Santa Cruz landmark inextricably linked to the town's rich and colorful history. A multi-million dollar property renovation is underway with a refresh to all 165 guestrooms, including 16 suites as well as the lobby and pool deck; to be completed spring 2017.

Indian Springs Calistoga combines a passion for California's relaxed wine country living with the power of nature's restorative, geothermal waters. After bringing their own children to the Napa Valley resort for years before purchasing the property in 1988, owners John and Pat Merchant retain a deep love and appreciation for the original resort and history of the land. The recently expanded and renovated property consists of a collection of California-style hideaways, cottages, bungalows, and Mission Revival-styled buildings discreetly spread across the 17-acre property. Built in 1910, the resort centerpiece is an Olympic-sized, mineral swimming pool fed from four onsite geysers. The property also features the most authentic and diverse spa in the Napa Valley, featuring renowned mud baths fed by onsite mineral waters and pure volcanic ash deposits from the eruption of Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Konocti thousands of years ago. The property opened its first restaurant in 2015, Sam's Social Club, named after the resort's founder and California's first millionaire, Sam Brannan.

“We are thrilled to manage these unique destination properties that embody the diversity and spirit that we seek in our collection of hotels,” said Alden. “We're confident that Woodside's sincere and unscripted hospitality will not only reignite excitement among longtime loyalists, but will attract new visitors to these remarkable resorts.”

Since 1972, Woodside Hotels has welcomed guests with genuine and gracious hospitality. Their legacy is one of holding themselves to the highest standards and seeking to provide guests with memorable experiences where each interaction in sincere, every detail is thoughtfully considered, and each property is distinctly California.
