Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center Completes $4.6 Million Meeting Space Renovation
ATLANTA, GA. January 30, 2017 - Joe Uhl, General Manager of the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center, has announced the completion of a $4.6 million renovation of the hotel's meeting and event space.
The project incorporated new carpeting, wall coverings, artwork, and lighting across the hotel's 65,000 plus square feet of event space. One other key feature which is mandatory in today's business environment is to add in power outlets throughout the venue to enable meeting attendees to recharge no matter where they happen to be.
According to Mr. Uhl, the new design embodies the Renaissance brand's goal to incorporate indigenous elements of Atlanta into the setting. The Garden Court Area offers 14,000 square feet of pre-convene space which integrates local features to capture the essence and flavors of Atlanta. Large sweeping murals celebrate a "Georgia on my Mind" theme and cozy nooks outside of the Grand Ballroom capture the images of Atlanta's history as the jewel of the South.
With a goal of giving conference attendees an opportunity to experience "Business Unusual," whimsical and imaginative case goods add flair to the renovated spaces and to the seating areas so one can enjoy more of a lounge vibe in the space versus being in a strictly corporate environment. The Garden Court features large community tables with power connections to stimulate imaginative conversations and breakouts during meeting down times. Additional seating has also been added to the mural and nook areas all featuring plugs for those that need to power up during intermissions from the meeting experience. The smaller meeting spaces also feature artwork which celebrates the hip urban vibe of Atlanta.
All in all the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center features 65,000 square feet of event space spread across 32 event rooms. The property is also directly connected to the Cobb Galleria Centre which features another 320,000 square feet of space.
