The Broadmoor Receives AAA's Five Diamond Rating

Once Again Earning a Spot at the Top of an Elite Group within the Hospitality Industry

. November 09, 2016

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. November 9, 2016 - Highlighting over four decades of excellence, The Broadmoor has received the coveted AAA Five Diamond designation once again for 2017. The Colorado Springs resort and destination has maintained this prestigious rating consecutively since 1976, as it continues to offer guests the same “European Elegance Meets Western Hospitality” it has promised for almost a century. The resort's Penrose Room restaurant also received the coveted AAA Five Diamond designation for its tenth consecutive year.

“Being awarded the AAA Five Diamond Rating is energizing as we work to prepare for our centennial celebration in 2018, and continue our mindful expansion with the offerings of The Wilderness Experience and our newest luxury accommodation offering, The Estate House,” said Jack Damioli, President and CEO of The Broadmoor.“ Our team is thrilled to be recognized for all the hard work and dedication we put into upholding The Broadmoor's nearly 100-year legacy as a world-class destination and experience.”

The Broadmoor's Food and Beverage Vice President, John Johnstone C.M.C., added, “Penrose Room is Colorado's only AAA Five Diamond gem, and we are humbled to receive this prestigious award for 10 consecutive years. It is a testament to our food and beverage team that takes care of our guests and strives for excellence on a daily basis.”

Hotels at this level employ experienced, highly qualified staff to provide the custom service luxury hotel guests expect, according to AAA. These establishments deliver unmatched guest comfort with luxurious accommodations, extraordinary facilities and many personalized amenities.

“A big part of becoming a Five Diamond establishment is consistently exceeding expectations of even the most discriminating traveler — the AAA inspector. Five Diamond properties deliver a highly personalized, memorable experience, and we are pleased to recognize The Broadmoor with the Five Diamond Rating,” said Michael Petrone, director of AAA Inspections & Diamond Ratings.

The Broadmoor is part of a select group representing the upper echelon of the hospitality industry in North America. Only 0.4 percent of nearly 28,000 AAA Approved hotels receive the travel authority's highest rating. Currently, just 118 hotels hold the AAA Five Diamond Rating, and The Broadmoor is the only to have held this distinction every year since the award's inception 41 years ago.
