. November 09, 2016

GREENBELT, MD. November 9, 2016 - Chesapeake Hospitality, a dynamic third-party hotel management company, announced today that it has been selected manager of the Hotel Indigo St. Louis Downtown, the Holiday Inn Washington-College Park hotel and the Detroit Airport Marriott hotel. Kim Sims, president of Chesapeake Hospitality, made the announcement.

These deal announcements highlight Chesapeake's ongoing growth trajectory during 2016 of securing the management of great hotels both on the east coast and now in the Midwest.

“We are proud to bring our results-driven management strategies to these great hotels,” said Sims. “As we continue to expand our business relationships both on the east coast and now more aggressively in the Midwest, it is a great opportunity to introduce our comprehensive, holistic management approach to these properties, creating asset value for our clients.”

The Hotel Indigo St. Louis Downtown hotel, is an adaptive re-use project that will convert the vacant historic LaSalle Building located at 501 Olive into a hotel—including 86 guest rooms, approximately 5,000 square feet of meeting space and a rooftop bar. Located in the heart of downtown, the hotel is just two blocks from the St. Louis convention center and seven blocks from Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals. The hotel is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2017.

The 220-room Holiday Inn Washington-College Park hotel is conveniently located off I-95 and the Capital Beltway just a short drive from Washington, DC. In close proximity to the hotel is the University of Maryland, the Food & Drug Administration, White Oak and USDA Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. Guests will enjoy access to 12 meeting rooms, full-service dining and an indoor heated pool. The hotel is scheduled to undergo a $6.0 million renovation.

The 247-room Detroit Metro Airport Marriot offers 12 meeting rooms totaling 9,224 square feet of total meeting space, as well as a modern fitness center, indoor pool, and North—a new room dining experience, which is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and serves varied American cuisine. Within close proximity to the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, the hotel is near popular Detroit area attractions including the Henry Ford Museum, IKEA and the University of Michigan.
