. October 18, 2016

CHICAGO, IL. / PITTSBURGH, PA. October 17, 2016 - Waterton, a U.S. real estate investor and operator, today announced it has appointed Robert Brashler as general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh Airport in Moon Township, Penn. Bringing over 15 years of hospitality management experience to the company, Brashler will oversee day-to-day operations at the 135-key hotel, leading a team of more than 100 on-site associates.

“Robert's rich experience in hospitality management throughout the East Coast, paired with his strong human resources and revenue management background, make him uniquely qualified to serve as general manager of the DoubleTree Pittsburgh Airport,” said Patrick Hansen, senior vice president of operations at Waterton. “Throughout his career, Robert has demonstrated an ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences by placing an equal emphasis on the happiness and satisfaction of the associates who ultimately shape those experiences. It's a philosophy that aligns perfectly with Resitality, our goal of making hotel guests feel at home during their stay and on-site associates feel like they're part of the Waterton family.”

Over the past three years, Brashler served as general manager with Magna Hospitality Group in New York. During this time, Brashler managed the 369-room Sheraton Tribeca New York and the 224-room DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square South, driving Sheraton associate satisfaction to third-highest in the company. The DoubleTree by Hilton Times Square South was ranked in the top 20 percent of the brand during Brashler's tenure and No. 1 in the company for associate satisfaction. Prior to his time at Magna, Brashler held general manager positions with Twin Tier Hospitality and Real Hospitality Group, both located in New York. During that time, he managed several New York hotels operating under the Comfort Inn, Hyatt Place and Fairfield Inn & Suites brands, earning recognition as “General Manager of the Year.”

“The satisfaction of my guests and associates is always my top priority and I look forward to collaborating with the team at the DoubleTree Pittsburgh Airport to make an already strong hotel even stronger,” Brashler said. “My familiarity with both the East Coast market and DoubleTree brand will allow me to immediately begin identifying ways we can further elevate the level of service provided while proactively managing the bottom line to achieve desired financial objectives.”

Fluent in French, Brashler holds a bachelor's degree in operations and human resources from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
