Grand Hyatt New York Launches WeChat Account Targeting Inbound Chinese Travelers

Iconic Manhattan hotel expands social media presence, e-commerce capabilities with leading Chinese mobile platform

NEW YORK, N.Y. September 15, 2016 - Grand Hyatt New York announced today the launch of its account on WeChat, a China-based e-commerce application that offers point-of-sale integration, customer service, and social engagement capabilities. Grand Hyatt New York joins WeChat, one of the world's largest social media platforms, to better serve and connect with its inbound Chinese business and leisure customers; the hotel is one of the first properties in New York to work with this technology brand.

The Grand Hyatt New York WeChat account includes direct booking capabilities on the app, allowing its “followers” to make hotel reservations, modify reservations or research rates and special offers. The account also features a news feed on hotel updates, amenities, special offers and other happenings on property, which will help guests better plan and prepare for their experience at the hotel and in the destination.
