August 2, 2016 - Sokha Hotels & Resorts today announces it will operate the new 8,950 sq meter Sokha Convention Center in Siem Reap with state-of-the-art audiovisual & telecommunications technology. Siem Reap is an important cultural destination for tourists from all over the world. Located in northwest Cambodia, it is the major tourist hub in Cambodia, as it is the closest city to the world famous temples of Angkor Wat.
Previously, major conferences have predominately been held in Phnom Penh. Today's announcement lets the industry know that Siem Reap is now a real option to cater to international conventions. The Sokha Convention Center is ideally situated adjacent to the new 5 Star, 770-room Sokha Siem Reap Resort due to open in September 2016.
