Hyatt Regency Crystal City's Phillip Saims Receives Prestigious Leadership Award in Public Relations

Hyatt Director of Sales and Marketing leads D.C. property in public relations initiative

CRYSTAL CITY, VA. July 21, 2016 - Phillip Saims, director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Crystal City located outside Washington, D.C., has been awarded Hyatt's coveted Leadership Award for Excellence in public relations. Saims is responsible for managing the property's sales and marketing initiatives, as well as generating revenue for the hotel through room bookings, meetings and events. The Leadership Award, an annual achievement award, honors individuals that display leadership qualities valued by Hyatt including: creativity, initiative, high-energy, business acumen and communications skills. Saims joined Hyatt Regency Crystal City in 2014.

Saims brings more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has been recognized for a variety of creative programs, events and exceptional campaigns. Saims was given the Leadership Award for Excellence for a monthly event he and his team created called “Art for Life.” The monthly art exhibit and reception, open to the public, brought unique artists and their art from the Torpedo Factory art center in Alexandria, Va. to the Hyatt Regency Crystal City where they displayed their art and talked about their work. Proceeds from the event benefited the National Kidney Foundation. The exhibition was sponsored in part by Maserati of Arlington, Va. and raised more than $2,000 for the NKF.
