Rockbridge Breaks Ground on The Hotel at 412 Williamson Located in Savannah's Historic District

COLUMBUS, OH June 16, 2016 - Rockbridge, an investment platform focusing in real estate and operating companies, today announced The Hotel at 412 Williamson, its new, seven-story boutique hotel located in Savannah's Historic District, which officially broke ground earlier this month. Once completed in July 2017, the property, which is part of Starwood's Tribute Portfolio, will span an entire city block on River Street and serve as an anchor to the economic revitalization of the area, a traditionally industrial section of Savannah's riverfront.

Once surrounded by a power plant, bottle factories, and a thriving shipping channel, the city block that is the hotel's site is the historic district's last underdeveloped parcel, which at one time supported the shipping industry by warehousing everything from cotton to tobacco and molasses. A “curated industrial” motif informs the design of the property, with a focus on sophistication and elegance blended with strong craftsmanship and honest materials, offering a nod to both Savannah's polished, old world charm and the profound influence that industry has had on this section of the city.

In close collaboration with the city and with several other partners, including Savannah-based Gunn Meyerhoff Shay Architects, interior designers FODA Studio and Parts and Labor, and Rockbridge's branding affiliate, Rockbridge is focused on bringing a new hotel to the area that ushers in a new renaissance yet references the area's storied past.

With 173 guest rooms and 162,000 square feet, The Hotel at 412 Williamson features a unique all-king concept for the property, with 82 double king rooms, 66 kings, and 25 king suites. In addition to 4,000 square feet of meeting space, the property features a myriad of leisure amenities, including a signature restaurant on River Street, rooftop event space and bar, fitness area, pool, and lobby bar. Located just blocks from the main city center and historic district, but far enough removed to have a very different feel, the hotel offers destination travelers and locals alike a sophisticated respite from which to enjoy Savannah's ever-expanding cultural attractions, including world-class dining, art, and shopping.
