SCOTTSDALE, AZ. May 9, 2016 - Adam Sheff has been named executive chef of the highly anticipated Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley, Arizona, opening September 1, 2016.

Sheff has been a member of the Hyatt family since 2008, starting at the acclaimed Blue Duck Tavern at Park Hyatt Washington, D.C. During his six-year tenure at the hotel, he transitioned to sous chef and eventually culinary operations manager, overseeing both Blue Duck Tavern and banquet operations before relocating to Park Hyatt New York in an executive sous chef role for two years. He has worked in a number of esteemed restaurants across the country in locations like Washington, D.C., New York City, Massachusetts and Southern California. Sheff graduated from the French Culinary Institute in New York City in 2005 after attending Northeastern University in Boston.

In his new role as executive chef, Sheff will oversee the development and launch of the resort's signature restaurant, Weft & Warp Art Bar & Kitchen. The restaurant will be centered on a contemporary Sonoran menu concept, incorporating local and seasonal ingredients that will be heavily inspired by the culture and rich heritage of the resort's surroundings.

“Chef Adam is instrumental in creating our culinary program and a larger 'cuisine culture' at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa. He brings great knowledge and respect for the crossroads of cultures that have been happening for centuries in our area, including Spanish, Mexican and Native American influences that he will so seamlessly incorporate into our menus” said Scott Mason, general manager of Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa. “Chef Adam's modern approach will make Weft & Warp Art Bar & Kitchen a true experience for guests that reflects what the Andaz brand is all about - inspiration, authenticity and creativity.”

Additionally, Sheff will be responsible for the resort's larger culinary program and dining venues, including the lobby lounge and bar with all-day offerings, Turquoise Pool bar and cafe, in-room dining services, and events.
