ROSEMONT, IL. April 19, 2016 - Rosemont, Illinois-based First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG), a leading hotel management, acquisition and development company, announced today that the restaurant at its Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Downtown Hotel, 8UP Elevated Drinkery & Kitchen (8UP), was recognized in OpenTable's 100 Hottest Restaurants in America 2016 compilation. FHG President and CEO Bob Habeeb made the announcement.

An app that gives users the ability to make restaurant reservations, OpenTable generated the list from more than 5 million restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between March 1, 2015 and February 29, 2016. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant's average rating in the “hot spot” category. The winning restaurants are highly regarded for their lively ambience, and many feature vibrant bar and lounge scenes with an after-hours feel. 8UP has an overall rating of 4.4 out of 5.

“What makes 8UP so special, in addition to its unmatched food and beverage offerings, is its appeal to so many different demographics,” said Habeeb. “On an average day, we see an after work professional crowd, followed by a younger nightclub crowd intermixed with hotel guests and locals coming in for a great dining experience.”

Conceived and developed by nationally acclaimed Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants, 8UP is a dazzling outdoor + indoor all glass drinking and eating experience that offers the best in unparalleled views. The space features a 90-seat restaurant where guests can relax amidst dark wood paneling and feel a part of the action with the open kitchen. 8UP features an extensive menu focusing on “progressive American cuisine” designed to please the sophisticated palates and celebrate the spirit of fun that defines Louisville.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the top 100 hottest restaurants alongside such notable restaurants across the country,” said Justin Harkey, Corporate F&B Director for FHG. “Chef Jacob Coronado and Beverage Director Clay Livingston consistently provide our guests with an elevated dining experience unlike anywhere else in the area and we could not be more proud of their success implementing this innovative concept.”

Other notable restaurants on the OpenTable top 100 list include 40/40 Club in New York, Acorn in Denver, B.B. King's Blues Club in both Memphis and Orlando, The Ivy in West Hollywood, California and Pitch Coal-Fire Pizzeria in Omaha, Nebraska. Only one other Kentucky restaurant made the list—Middle Fork Kitchen Bar in Lexington.
