Jordan Hansell Announced as President of Rockbridge Holdings

Rockbridge Bolsters Leadership as Part of Growth Strategy

. November 10, 2015

COLUMBUS, OH. November 10, 2015 - Rockbridge Holdings, LLC., an investment platform with specialties including hospitality, today announces the split of the President & CEO role into two positions, naming Jordan Hansell as President.

As President, Hansell will continue Rockbridge Holdings' efforts to grow its infrastructure and enhance efficiencies. Jim Merkel will remain CEO of Rockbridge. Merkel will lead the company's strategic vision and will continue to direct the firm's investments.

Hansell previously served as Chairman and CEO of NetJets Inc., the world's largest private aviation provider, where he completed the company's $1B turnaround from 2009 through 2014. Rockbridge Holdings selected Hansell for his proven track record of implementing profitable long-term strategies and experience gleaned from working with the most successful and influential investor of the 20th century, Warren Buffett.

“I've known Jordan personally and professionally for several years, and I think very highly of his experience, character and integrity,” Jim Merkel said. “Our business has grown in size and sophistication and Jordan's executive leadership will enable us to continue to grow and execute at a high level.”

Under Hansell's direction, NetJets also purchased Marquis Jet and a small start-up aviation software company. In addition, NetJets executed, at $17.6B, the largest fleet refresh in private aviation history, which included working closely with aircraft manufacturers to design aircraft surpassing customer expectations and reworking the manufacturing process to increase design and delivery flexibility.

Before joining NetJets, Hansell was a partner with the law firm Nyemaster Goode, where his practice focused primarily on general corporate matters, complex real estate transactions, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Nyemaster Goode, Hansell served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

“There are many similarities between hospitality and private aviation, with both having an intense focus on service, end-user experience and continuous improvement,” noted Hansell. “This is a tight-knit company with a core culture of doing great work, and I'm excited to expand Rockbridge Holdings' entrepreneurial spirit with systems and processes to help optimize the business.”
