Horizon Hospitality, LLC Announces Two New Hilton Hotel Projects in Morgantown, WV

Hampton Inn & Suites and Home2 Suites by Hilton to be built adjacent to interstate 79 and newly constructed Monongalia County Ballpark.

CANONSBURG, PA. October 28, 2015 - Horizon Hospitality an affiliate of Horizon Properties Group will develop two new hotel properties and an outparcel property in Morgantown, WV (Granville) as part of the University Town Center. The properties will be constructed directly adjacent to the new Interstate 79 Interchange under construction between Westover and Star City. The Horizon development project is adjacent to the newly constructed 3,500 seat Monongalia County Ballpark, home field of the West Virginia Black Bears, a Frontier League team and the West Virginia University Big 12 baseball team. Also located near the property is a new West Virginia University Medical Services Center, and many large national retailers.

The Hampton Inn & Suites will be a six story hotel featuring 115 rooms comprised of both traditional guest rooms and suites. It will also contain a fitness center, business center, meeting room, and shared indoor pool.

Home 2 Suites by Hilton is a mid-tier, all-suite extended-stay hotel with contemporary accommodations and progressive guest room design. Home 2 Suites is the first new brand introduced by Hilton Worldwide in 20 years. The property features an open lobby area with a community space called the “Oasis.” The Oasis is designed to create an environment where guests can socialize, along with including communal and individual work zones. Home 2 Suites offer a complimentary “Inspired Table” continental breakfast service with customizable options. Amenities include a fitness center, guest laundry, outdoor patio with barbeque grills and indoor pool.

In addition to the hotel properties, there will also be the development and leasing of a 1.4 acre outparcel. This outparcel will house the proposed Morgantown Shoppes at University Town Center. The Morgantown Shoppes will feature two end cap restaurants totaling 9,000 square feet, and 6,000 square feet of retail.
