STAMFORD, CT. September 24, 2015 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.® (NYSE:HOT) today announced that Aloft, the innovative hotel brand for today's hyper-connected global traveler, has expanded its New York City portfolio with the opening of its first Aloft hotel in the Financial District. Owned by Lam Generation and managed by Real Hospitality, Aloft Manhattan Downtown - Financial District features 125 loft-like rooms, tech-forward experiences, a buzzing social scene, and a full line-up of innovative music-driven programming. The hotel joins Aloft Harlem and Aloft New York Brooklyn as the third Aloft hotel in the New York City area.

"Aloft Manhattan Downtown - Financial District marks the brand's debut in lower Manhattan and will bring an exciting new offering to this rapidly evolving neighborhood with its leading-edge design, innovative technologies and live music offerings - all at the right rate," said Brian McGuinness, Global Brand Leader, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. "As we approach the 100th hotel milestone worldwide, we're on track to double the Aloft portfolio in New York City by 2018."

Aloft Financial District is ideally located on Ann Street, a short walk from the New York Stock Exchange, City Hall, One World Trade Center and numerous global corporate headquarters including Goldman Sachs and American Express. Notable New York City landmarks are also within reach by walking or via subway, including Battery Park, the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade, the Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, SoHo, Chinatown and Brooklyn. Amenities at Aloft Financial District include a 24-hour fitness center, the brand's signature W XYZ® bar, 250 square feet of flexible meeting space, the re:mix lounge and re:fuel at Aloft - a one-stop grab & go food and beverage area.

"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Starwood Hotels to bring Aloft to Manhattan's Financial District, which is in the midst of a renaissance with plenty of new shopping destinations, as well as office and residential developments," said Ben Seidel, President and CEO of RHG. "With its distinctive urban design and intuitive technologies, the popular Aloft brand is an excellent match for this vibrant area."

The Aloft brand's innovative and exclusive initiatives set it apart from the competition. Aloft Hotels recently announced the launch of SPG Keyless — an evolution of Aloft's Smart Check-in — the hospitality industry's first mobile, keyless entry system allowing guests to use their smart phone as a key. The technology is rolling out to all Aloft, Element and W Hotels Worldwide by year's end. Additionally, every Aloft hotel around the world offers live, free access to local emerging artists and some of the hottest bands with Live at Aloft Hotels programming at the W XYZ® bars.

Aloft remains the fastest growing brand in the history of hospitality with 100 hotels in 15 countries. Recently marked by the openings of Aloft Munich in Germany and Aloft South Beach in Miami, the brand continues to expand in key global markets with eight additional hotels set to open by the end of 2015.
