The Wayfarers Walking Vacations Offers Sneak Preview of 2016 Spring Walks

. August 25, 2015

UNITED KINGDOM, August 25, 2015 - THE WAYFARERS Walking Vacations has released its online Sneak Preview 2016 brochure, offering an early peek at the full range of early season hiking tours across the globe.

"Far from the Madding Crowd", a Walk in Thomas Hardy's Dorset, UK, is one of five brand new itineraries being offered.

Guests will visit Hardy's birthplace, his townhouse, and the countryside that inspired him. They will enjoy a private tour of stately Mapperton House, home of the Earl and Countess of Sandwich, where director Thomas Vinterberg filmed many scenes in the 2015 movie version of Far From the Madding Crowd. They will also hike a stretch of the spectacular Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

Other new Walks are in UK's North Cornwall, setting for TV's Poldark and Doc Martin, the Lake District and the Scottish Islands. Wine buffs and foodies will love the Walk in the lush Burgundy region of France.

Well-loved favorites have been refreshed and updated and for the first time, The Wayfarers hosts a Winter Walk featuring snow-shoeing and cross-country ski-ing in the Austrian Tyrol.

Other fully all-inclusive Walks, escorted by The Wayfarers' renowned Walk Leaders and Managers, range from Argentinian Patagonia to New Zealand, USA and across Europe.

The Wayfarers' Founder Michael West said: "We know that many people are already thinking about their spring and early summer vacations for 2016 and our Sneak Preview is a great chance to get a feel for what The Wayfarers' take on slow travel is all about.

"Our tours are all based on small groups and so this is the ideal opportunity for our guests to ensure their place on their first-choice Walks.

"Our new Walk in Dorset, where Betsy and I live, is sure to be a winner - the scenery in this most rural of areas really is as lovely as it appeared in the Vinterberg movie and the coastline is simply stunning."
