CAPE CORAL, FL. July 13, 2015 - The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village is excited to announce the appointment of Tim Duque as Executive Chef. In this role, Chef Duque will oversee all food and beverage components, including banquets for meetings, events and weddings along with the property's two dining venues, Marker92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro and The Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill.

Born and raised in Miami, Duque has been continually recognized for culinary excellence throughout his career, bringing with him a wealth of experience at some of Florida's most notable properties such as South Seas Island Resort and The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa. With plans to spice up some existing favorite dishes at the hotel's on-site restaurants, Duque also looks forward to adding several new signature dishes to the menu such as a twist on traditional ribs to the menu at Marker 92. Nauti Mermaid's menu will also be revamped with dishes crafted specifically for enjoying alongside the waterfront. With a sommelier certification, Duque will use his expertise to pair wines with contemporary dishes and chosen seasonal ingredients.

With over 15,000 square feet of versatile functioning event space, Duque will also place a special emphasis to elevate group catering menus for small and large groups, accommodating up to 700 guests. Menus will feature small bites and tapa-style group catering options so attendees can enjoy multiple offerings at events.

Chef Duque graduated Summa Cum Laude from Johnson and Wales University, North Miami. When not in the kitchen, he likes to enjoy the best of southwest Florida including shelling on Sanibel, Frisbee golf and photography.
