Courtyard Paris Arcueil Spearheads Vigorous Green Initiatives for 2015

. February 24, 2015

February 24, 2015 - If most hotels are considered green these days, then the Courtyard Paris Arcueil is positively neon. For while other properties occasionally try to recycle and reduce laundry loads, this hotel is working to save the bees, raise money for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and join an international movement toward sustainability. And this year, the hotel's multifaceted efforts are making it one of the leaders of the green movement.

Guests arriving at this hotel near the Porte de Versailles will immediately notice the eco-friendly emphasis. All year long, for example, the property will work toward reducing its overall waste. Efforts include organic waste treatment, plastic waste treatment (i.e. plastic bags in rooms, paper hangers, bottles, etc.), paper recycling and minimizing overall energy consumption. And the European Week for Waste Reduction (November 21 to 29) will witness an uptick in awareness campaigns and actions, too.

Yet raising awareness, both among associates and clients, takes many forms for the hotel. That's why the property is working with Un Toit Pour Les Abeilles (A Roof for the Bees), for example, in which it sponsors a hive, promotes biodiversity in doing so and receives honey to use and sell on property.

Such a partnership complements the hotel's other goal of working with suppliers to use more local products in its Arcueil restaurant, Oleo Pazzo Mediterranean Bistro, and elsewhere on property. Plus it will participate in WWF workshops, green training and April's environmental awareness campaign while also switching the hotel's cleaning products for more sustainable ones.

The staff of these Porte d'Orleans accommodations have embraced the green movement as well. On June 27 and 28, for instance, three associates are participating in WWF's Pandathlon to raise EUR 900 to help preserve the Mont Blanc. And when Paris welcomes the United Nations Climate Change Conference between December 1 and 11 this year, the hotel will create themed food and beverage offerings in which no waste is generated, as well as continue communication of Marriott International's sustainability initiatives.

Between its dialogue and its actions, the Courtyard Paris Arcueil has positioned itself as a force within the environmental movement. And it will hopefully inspire other businesses and individuals to choose a shade of green that best suits them.

Located just a quick train ride away from downtown Paris, the Courtyard Paris Arcueil extends a warm and modern welcome to travelers. Features include complimentary wireless Internet access in both guest rooms and public spaces, a lively Mediterranean restaurant, a 24-hour fitness center and a full-service business center. Corporate travelers enjoy state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment in the five flexible conference rooms for some of the finest meeting venues in Arcueil. And visitors can relax in the 170 guest rooms, which boast a sleek, modern design, and feature comfortable beds with plush mattresses and soft sheets, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs with cable, large workspaces, air-conditioning and, in some rooms, private balconies. The Courtyard Paris Arcueil also offers convenient access to Paris Orly Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport from Laplace Station, and its proximity to the trains mean Paris' world-famous shops, restaurants, attractions and museums are just minutes away.
