Forbes Travel Guide also has high praise for The Immigrant Restaurant

KOHLER, Wis. - February 20, 2015 - Regarded throughout the industry as one of the most discriminating and influential authorities on luxury leisure properties, the Forbes Travel Guide has once again recognized The American Club and the Kohler Waters Spa with its prestigious Five-Star rating. Formerly known as the Mobil Travel Guide, Forbes originated the Five-Star system and has used its “Global Star Rating” system to evaluate members of the hospitality industry for nearly 60 years.

The Forbes Travel Guide states that only properties that meet its hospitality standards - “the most stringent in the industry” - achieve its Five and Four Star ratings. These ratings, which are determined through the annual evaluation of over 500 criteria by professional inspectors, establish “a global benchmark for luxury travel.”

Calling a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star property “a destination unto itself,” the guide states that “these exceptional hotels provide a memorable experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities.” Spas rated with Five Stars offer “an exceptional experience with no detail overlooked,” with an expert staff that “caters to your every whim and pampers you with the most advanced treatments available.” “The properties that receive Forbes Five Star ratings are considered the best in the world,” said Michael Belot, General Manager of Destination Kohler. “They must meet and surpass Forbes' standards of excellence at every level. It's a testament to our exceptional service that we've received Five Stars again this year.”

The Forbes ratings also had strong praise for The Immigrant Restaurant, which received its Four-Star ranking. To achieve this level, the restaurant must have “a highly trained dining room staff” and feature “creative, complex foods.” There is often a focus on locally sourced food, and Forbes has praised the restaurant's selection of Wisconsin cheeses, as well as its menu of creatively updated American classics.

Known for its long history of sophisticated, cutting-edge plumbing products, Kohler Co. decided to transform the original workers' dormitories into a world-class resort hotel in 1981. The American Club in Kohler, Wis., was later joined in 2004 by The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St. Andrews, Scotland. Both properties, known for their high-level customer service and impeccable attention to detail, are recognized internationally for their championship golf courses. The American Club resort is home to public courses Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run, which have collectively hosted the 1998 and 2012 U.S. Women's Open, 2004 and 2010 PGA Championships, 2007 U.S. Senior Open and is home to this year's PGA Championship and 2020 Ryder Cup.
The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa overlooks the world's most famous golf course, The Old Course, and also offers golf at the only healthland course in the area - The Duke's.
