New Castle Names Michael Marques as GM of 125-room Hampton Inn Shelton in Connecticut

SHELTON, CT - January 13, 2015 - Officials of New Castle Hotels and Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced that Michael Marques has been named general manager of the 125-room Hampton Inn Shelton. Previously, he was the director of sales for two New Castle properties. In his new role he also will serve as area director of sales for Hampton Inn Shelton and the Westport Inn, in nearby Westport, Conn.

"Michael is a very accomplished sales director, who has demonstrated his ability to handle multiple hotel assignments," said Gerry Chase, president and COO of New Castle. "Retaining great talent is an ongoing challenge in this business, so I'm very pleased that we were able to offer him this opportunity to advance in his career. I have every confidence in his ability to succeed in this expanded role."

Prior to joining New Castle in 2009 as the director of sales for the Tarrytown, NY SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Marques was with Marriott International for10 years, serving as the director of sales at the Courtyard by Marriott in Norwalk, Conn. and the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Danbury, Conn.
