CARBONDALE, CO - January 9, 2015 - Timbers Resorts, the independent developer and operator of private boutique resorts and residence clubs, has named Federico Galligani as the new general manager of Hotel Castello di Casole - A Timbers Resort, the collection's luxury award-winning resort in Tuscany, Italy. Galligani has been on-property as the director of food and beverage since October 2011 and in his new role will oversee all daily operations of the 10th century castle-turned-41-suite hotel and the surrounding 4,200-acre estate.

“Since joining the Castello di Casole team, Federico has been a pillar of excellence in hospitality and operational execution,” said Timbers Resorts' CEO and founder, David Burden. “His extensive experience in the luxury hotel sector and remarkable leadership skills will ensure that our team continues to deliver the highest levels of service to our guests.”

Galligani brings 27 years of international hospitality experience to Castello di Casole. He began his career in London at the Savoy Hotel and has since held leadership positions at numerous luxury hotels across Europe including the historic Gstaad Palace Hotel in Switzerland, Hotel Nassauer Hof in Germany, The Hotel Excelsior in Venice and The St. Regis Rome. Galligani was born and raised in Florence, Italy and is fluent in four major languages—Italian, English, German and French.

“I am looking forward to my new role with the incredible team at Castello di Casole,” said Galligani. “The estate is distinctively special, offering a truly authentic Tuscan experience and I am delighted to be a part of Castello di Casole's future.”

Castello di Casole sits on the pinnacle of the 4,200-acre private estate and is ideally located within an hour of Florence, Siena and the Chianti and Montalcino wine regions. It features 28 artfully restored and reconstructed Tuscan farmhouses and a 41-suite boutique hotel. Most recently, the property opened its spa/wellness haven, Essere Spa, a 5,400-square-foot former wine vault that is truly indulgent and offers treatments using centuries-old Italian methods using ingredients found on the estate. The estate is also home to a model game preserve, 88 acres of vineyards, 13 acres of olive groves and an expansive trail system.
