November 21, 2014 - Club Med, the original all-inclusive resort company with over 65 resorts around the globe, is now taking reservations at the highly anticipated flagship all-inclusive snow destination, Club Med Val Thorens, which will open December 14, 2014.

Boasting doorstop access to the highest and largest ski domain in the world, The Three Valleys in the French Alps, at an altitude of 7,545 feet with 372 miles of internationally acclaimed ski slopes - the new ski resort is an ideal spot for winter sports enthusiasts promising a snow guarantee. The Val Thorens ski domain was named “World's Best Ski Resort,” “Most Innovative Ski Resort in Europe” and “France's Best Ski Resort” in the Nov. 2013 World Ski Awards.

World-Class European Ski and Hotel Experiences, More Affordable than Aspen

Guests of Club Med Val Thorens will enjoy an easy check-in by having all ski and snowboard equipment prepared and placed in their personal locker prior to arrival, as well as online subscription to ski and snowboard classes. A 360 degree digital ecosystem will include a specialized resort app, which will provide a seamless mobile check-in, interactive screens in-room, informative screens throughout and Wi-Fi throughout the slopes. Other fun participative digital experiences will include a social jukebox to create a resort playlist, an innovative photo booth and kinetic dancing.

Rates for the all-inclusive ski experience at Club Med Val Thorens start from $303 per person per night based on double occupancy including accommodation, meals and beverages, ski passes with lift tickets, ski instruction for all experience levels, select activities and entertainment. Guests will choose from 384 rooms starting from 248 square feet upwards, including 12 deluxe rooms, five junior suites and six suites.

Compared with a similar “do it yourself” trip to Aspen, a couple can save more than $2,500 on week-long trip to Club Med in the French Alps, with round-trip airfare from LaGuardia, airport/hotel transfers, accommodation for seven nights, all meals and all drinks (including alcoholic), a six-day lift ticket pass, ski and snowboard lessons, and gratuities (10%) all included in the Club Med price.

Two Michelin-Starred Chef Creates New Concept in Gourmet Dining

Two Michelin-starred chef Edouard Loubet, who is originally from Val Thorens, is creating the dinner menu for the resort's concept restaurant, Epicurious, with chef Thierry Van Rillaer and his team taking the helm in the kitchen.

In the “Comptoir Gourmand,” lunches and dinners will offer hearty mountain-style sandwiches, fresh soup of the day and regional specialties, as well as creative dinners crafted from authentic mountain recipes. In the afternoons, guests can warm up with an expansive selection of teas, coffees and other comforting hot drinks at the “Bar tout chaud.” “La Cave a Vins” will be the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine, a pre-dinner drink, or creative tapas served from street food stalls.

Direct access to the mountain allows guests to get the most from their favorite snow sports as well as discover new ones, from tobogganing and paragliding to speed riding and mountain biking on ice.
