Ivy Hotel in Baltimore, MD Appoints General Manager Robert Arthur and Executive Chef Mark Levy

Baltimore, Maryland - November 3, 2014 - The Ivy Hotel, the premiere luxury hotel in Baltimore's historic Mt. Vernon neighborhood scheduled to open in early 2015, has appointed several key leaders to the property's growing team, including General Manager Robert Arthur and Executive Chef Mark Levy.

Joining The Ivy Hotel team as general manager, Robert Arthur brings 15 years of managerial experience within the hospitality industry. Currently he leads the pre-opening development, project management, and budget and hiring strategy. For the launch opening, Arthur will oversee a number of day-to-day operations and departments as well as manage staff recruitment, training and productivity, oversee guest services and satisfaction, implement and execute budgets, and lead project management and problem solving. Prior to joining The Ivy Hotel team, Arthur held leadership roles at various prestigious establishments including Cohasset Harbor Resort in Cohasset, MA, Inn Of The Five Graces in Santa Fe, NM and The Wilcox in Aiken, SC. Robert also has experience managing larger hotel groups and was the Division Manager for The Parrish Collection Hawaii, a portfolio of over fifty privately-owned luxury vacation rental homes and condominiums.

Executive Chef Mark Levy will lead the informal fine-dining restaurant Magdalena, serving only local and in-season ingredients from his on-site garden, as well as locally sourced land, sea and raw items. Most recently, Chef served as Executive Chef at The Point in the Adirondacks, one of the few 5-star rated resorts in the country, serving gourmet fare using seasonal ingredients and an ever-changing chef's tasting menu created according to guests' tastes, preferences and dietary needs. Previously, Levy embarked on a culinary journey across the United States and Europe, where he worked at the 2-star Michelin restaurant of Michael Rostang in Paris and later in London where he first learned of the gastropub concept. Mark continued working at the Star Inn, the Running Horse and Greg Nicholl's acclaimed pub, The Russel, where he won England's Gastro Pub Chef of the Year in 2007 before becoming Executive Chef of The Point in 2008.
