First Finish Completes Multi-million Dollar Renovation of Top Producing Embassy Suites
Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion in D.C. Sees Transformation of Guest Suites & Public Space
October 27, 2014 - First Finish, Inc. recently completed the renovation of the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion in Washington, D.C. With over five years since its last renovation, the multimillion‐dollar project was a needed update for the urban property. Owned by Clarion Partners out of New York and managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts out of Englewood, Colorado, the renovation of the guest suites and public space boasted more than 130,000 square feet of total renovated space.
Guest room at the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion in D.C.The 14‐week renovation was comprised of 198 guest suites (consisting of the conversion of three guest suites to ADA suites as well as 57 tub‐to‐ shower conversions), back‐of‐house and retail space, lounge/lobby, motor lobby, Atrio Cafe, and a new bar. The guest suites saw the installation of 100,000 square feet of vinyl flooring as well as the addition of 52 new King Suites. Conscious of green practices, the guest suites also include cork underlayment, which is a renewable source and recyclable. The public space portion of the renovation involved the creation of over 1,000 square feet of lobby space as well as a number of upgrades, including a cantilevered buffet in the cafe. The addition of Willie's Bar offers a new full‐service, 20‐seat bar to the Atrio Lounge. The bar is named in honor of the hotel's longtime sous chef Wilfredo Benavides, who passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease in 2013.

Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion is one of the top‐producing Embassy Suites in the system as measured by RevPAR (revenue per available room). Over the past 10 years, it has consistently finished in the top‐five worldwide and top‐two nationally. It is one of the top‐grossing Embassy Suites for its size out of more than 220 Embassy Suites hotels worldwide.
