. October 20, 2014

October 20, 2014 - The Ascott has opened a fourth apart'hotel in Germany, with Citadines Michel Hamburg now receiving guests. This is Ascott's fourth property in Germany, adding to its portfolio of properties in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt.

The new 127-unit property has been designed in a modern style while reflecting Hamburg's maritime heritage.

The contemporary studios and apartments combine work and living to offer space and comfort for both its short and long-stay guests.

The property's facilities include a breakfast lounge with free refreshments available all day, a fitness room and a business centre which offers access to the internet to all guests.

The new property is situated in Hamburg's business district, home to thousands of companies. Many of these are international businesses, including shipbuilder and engineering company Blohm and Voss, publishers Gruner and Jahr and aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The city is also an important financial centre and home to the world's second oldest bank, Berenberg Bank.

Rebecca Hollants Van Loocke, regional general manager for Germany at The Ascott, said: “We now have properties in four key cities in Germany, with a total of more than 550 units. We look forward to welcoming our German and international guests to Hamburg. It's a great destination for both leisure and business travellers and we're pleased to offer welcoming home-away-from-home facilities to guests.”

The property offers easy access to the centre of Hamburg as it is just a five minutes' walk from the underground. It is also close to the city's busy port, located on the River Elbe and Hamburg airport is only 30 minutes drive.

The major trade fair venue Messe Hamburg, which hosts up to 40 events every year welcoming 700,000 visitors, is also a short distance away
