$240M Anaheim Convention Campus Renovation Project & Expansion Underway in California

. October 16, 2014

ANAHEIM, CA - October 16, 2014 - The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau (AOCVCB), the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Convention Center, alongside the three local-area hotels that form the Anaheim Convention Campus - Hilton Anaheim, Anaheim Marriott and Sheraton Park Hotel - have recently embarked on an extensive expansion and renovation plan to improve the campus' meeting space and visitor accommodations and amenities. The project began earlier in the year and was spearheaded by the Anaheim Convention Center announcement to expand its current facilities with an additional 200,000 square feet of flexible space to be used for exhibits, meetings and events.

"As an organization, we've been working towards the goal of becoming the destination marketing organization of the future. Part of that was coming together with our hotel neighbors to build the Anaheim Convention Campus, where we've pledged a commitment to always exceed the expectations of visitors to Anaheim and the convention center," said Jay Burress, president and CEO, AOCVCB. "We were at a crossroads and knew it was time to improve our product and raise the bar on the quality of experience we were offering our visitors and guests. The Hilton, Marriott and Sheraton Park, along with the convention center, have all embarked on plans to add numerous state-of-the-art improvements that will keep Anaheim as a premier meetings destination."

Earlier this year, all four venues outlined a list of state-of-the-art improvements that would make Anaheim the easy choice when selecting a venue and city to host their next meeting or convention. The overall renovation and expansion funds committed exceed $240 million and will cover a range of improvements like new meeting space, room upgrades and food and beverage additions. Details on the improvement include:
