NH Hotel Group Opens the 431-key NH Collection Eurobuilding in Madrid, Spain; The Brand's Flagship

Madrid, Spain - October 13, 2014 - After three months of intense renovations and an important economic investment, NH Collection Eurobuilding, one of Madrid's most emblematic hotels and NH Hotel Group's flagship establishment, has opened its doors. Located in the heart of the financial district, this four-star, 431-room hotel has been refashioned as the capital city's gourmet destination, with four restaurants devoted to haute cuisine, not to mention a pioneer in terms of emerging technology among hotels worldwide, thanks to the trail-blazing decision to turn the establishment into the only Living Lab in the industry.

In addition to its breath-taking and unprecedented array of gastronomic choices (including DiverXO, Madrid's only restaurant with three Michelin stars, DOMO by Roncero & Cabrera and more) and its incredible line-up of new technology for leisure and business travel needs, the new NH Collection Eurobuilding stands out with exclusive offerings such as its 3,229 square-foot LED vault screen, one-of-its-kind in Europe, two five-star floors within the hotel, 83,959 square feet of meeting space for any type of event and unique services designed to make the guest experience truly extraordinary.

Living Lab: world-first in hotel technology

The Living Lab project echoes NH Hotel Group's goal of putting technology at the service of business and leisure with a very clear objective: offering revolutionary service and installations in the industry and becoming one the most ambitious projects from any hotel in the world.

As a result, NH Collection Eurobuilding is reborn as a technology testing-ground. The Company's demonstration and experimentation platform, the Living Lab, is a one-of-a-kind in the hotel industry, transforming its services and spaces into a digital ecosystem. By tapping exploration, co-creation, experimentation and evaluation, customers are invited to participate in an ongoing evolving environment.

Another of the hotel's noteworthy innovative features is the astonishing LED vault screen over the lobby; it is Europe's largest multimedia vault screen and the largest vaulted (semi-transparent) display installed in a hotel anywhere in the world, running at 3,229 square feet. Equipped with spatial sound, it is possible to project programmed images onto the display so as to guarantee an unmatched experience.

With 83,959 square feet divided between 32 rooms, all with natural light, NH Collection Eurobuilding is the best choice for hosting any type of event in the capital. The Gran Madrid rooms stands out, a diaphanous space stretching 11,560 square feet, with capacity to cater to as many as 1,000 people for meetings and events alike. The hotel offers a full range of services encompassed by its new and differentiated value proposition for the meetings and events segment called "NH MEETINGS: inspire. create. Enjoy." This upgraded value proposition ensures the delivery of an homogenous and consistent experience in a key segment which represents roughly 25-percent of the Group's revenue and is set to play a prominent role in consolidating NH Hotel Group's positioning in the medium term.

The upgraded service suite, which includes Customized Professional Response, Specialised Advisory Service, Eco-Friendly Meetings and Free, Easy & High Capacity Wi-Fi, among others, has been rounded out with one new service, High Tech Made Easy, unveiled for the first time in NH Collection Eurobuilding.

The High Tech Made Easy service offers a revolutionary holographic telepresence system to be rolled out initially for pilot testing in Madrid, Berlin, Milan and Rotterdam, making NH Hotel Group the first hotel chain to implement this pioneering system. Also, the offer is completed with the 'all-in-one' solution by the SMART Room System for Microsoft® Lync® Online, which combines the best of videoconferencing with interactive collaboration using Lync Online 2013, enabling high-quality video and audio communication among meeting participants, present and remote, and on-site meetings with next generation visual collaboration technology. NH Collection Eurobuilding is the starting point for this system which the Company plans to install in 15 hotels by the end of the year.

Gourmet destination

Poised for a new era, the NH Collection Eurobuilding re-opens its doors as the city's most important gastronomic cluster. Inside the building, food lovers will find DiverXO, the brainchild of the enfant terrible of Spanish cuisine, David Muñoz, and the only restaurant in Madrid with three Michelin stars. The refurbished hotel also devotes other spaces to fine dining. Paco Roncero (head chef of two Michelin star-restaurant La Terraza del Casino), Luis Bartolome and Diego Cabrera, geniuses of Spanish gastronomy and mixology, come together to give life to new culinary spaces. The first, DOMO by Roncero & Cabrera, will have different specialties include amazing tapas, a more cosmopolitan restoration and a Gastro Jewellery that joins haute cuisine by Paco Roncero with cocktails by Diego Cabrera. DOMO Lounge & Terrace by Cabrera and the 99 Sushi Bar, a restaurant at the forefront of high-end Japanese cuisine in Spain, round up the all-star culinary line-up.
