Hilton Anatole Announces $2.5 Million Ballroom Transformation and Industry Award

. October 10, 2014

DALLAS, TX - October 10, 2014 - The Hilton Anatole announced today that it has made significant enhancements, totaling $2.5 million, to its Imperial Ballroom (previously named Khmer Ballroom). The renovations, which were completed on September 14, include a new entryway with Asian-inspired artwork, a new registration counter, remodeled public restrooms, updated carpet, chic lighting and refreshed wall coverings.

Seifert Murphy, a Dallas, Texas, based architecture and interior design firm, handled the remodel of the space, which was last updated in 1999.

“We are really excited about these style enhancements,” said Kavin Schieferdecker, director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Anatole. “This refresh was the last of the renovations we've done in the past year, which follow extensive soft goods renovations in 300 of our atrium guestrooms.”

This news comes on the heels of another exciting announcement for the Hilton Anatole. The hotel has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Meetings & Conventions 2014 Gold Platter Award by M&C's subscribers. This annual award is given to the prominent banquet & catering departments that have exhibited continued creative and culinary excellence.

The Anatole was the only Dallas-based property to receive a 2014 Gold Platter Award and one of three Hiltons honored out of the 31 domestic properties recognized by Meetings & Conventions. The two additional Hiltons were the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa and the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort & Spa.

“It's wonderful to be recognized as the only hotel in Dallas and the only Hilton in the mainland United States to receive this prestigious award,” Schieferdecker said. “Highlighting our talented food and beverage team at this time coincides nicely with the debut of our new Imperial Ballroom.”

Meetings & Conventions readers, representing the industry's most highly-sought meeting and incentive professionals, based their selections on seven important criteria: enthusiasm and professionalism of catering staff; quality of food presentation; creativity of menu; originality of theme-party concepts; overall helpfulness and budgeting considerations; excellence of staff service, and ambiance of dining rooms.

“It can make or break any event, and M&C's readers know how valuable quality food and beverage is to their overall success,” states Kirk Lewis, Meetings & Conventions' publisher. “Representing the industry's most vital critics, these experienced professionals have chosen the best with the Gold Platter Award. Our entire staff salutes the Catering / Food & Beverage departments that have demonstrated the qualities and dedication to earn the Gold Platter distinction.”

All winners will be featured in Meetings & Conventions' Gold Awards issue published this November. For additional information on the Hilton Anatole, please visit the Hilton Anatole website.
