Hyatt Regency Tulsa Hires New GM

DALLAS, TEXAS - September 23, 2014 - Hyatt Regency Tulsa is proud to announce that it has hired James Cunningham as General Manager of the downtown Tulsa hotel.

Cunningham brings to Hyatt Regency Tulsa more than twenty years experience in all aspects of the hospitality industry, including sales development, capital management, finance, human resources and food and beverage management.

“I am excited for this opportunity to join Hyatt Regency Tulsa team as General Manager,” Cunningham said. “I am looking forward to using my experiences and knowledge to build on the success of the hotel.”

Cunningham joins Hyatt Regency Tulsa from previous management positions at Promise Hotels as Chief Operating Officer, Doubletree by Hilton Tulsa Warren Place as General Manager, InterContinental Hotels Group as Area Director and General Manager, Lodgian, Inc. as General Manager, Wyndham International as General Manager and John Q Hammons.

Cunningham is a Texas Tech University graduate with a bachelor's degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management. His many honors and accomplishments include: Certified Hotel Administrator, 2009 Oklahoma GM of the Year by Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association nominee, Winner of Doubletree Crystal Cookie Award in 2008 & 2011 and Outstanding Community Service Award by American Hotel & Lodging Association awardee.
