Pereira, Colombia - September 12, 2014 - Sonesta is expanding its global portfolio in Colombia with the opening of Sonesta Hotel Pereira, an edgy and sophisticated new build property that will offer 165 rooms, including 16 multi-room villas, under the management of GHL Hotels. This is the fifth Sonesta owned and GHL managed property in the Republic of Colombia.

Located just eight minutes from Matecaña International Airport and 20 minutes from Pereira city center, Sonesta Hotel Pereira is situated on the road to Cerritos, an area ripe for urban development and tourism. Its proximity provides easy access to major cities in the coffee region, the Zona Franca industrial area, as well as nearby theme parks and attractions.

The hotel has 165 rooms, divided into Standard, Executive, Superior, Jr Suite and Suite selections; 102 in the tower and 63 rooms in 16 villas, all of which are equipped with the highest international standards and a modern avant-garde design. All guests will enjoy the relaxing setting of the hotel's rural surroundings, paired with first class amenities, 24 hour room-service, digital television, electronic safe, air conditioning, minibar and high-speed internet.

A variety of features including sport and two tennis courts, full service spa, fitness center, outdoor pool, and mini-golf range as well as two restaurants are also available to guests. Cook's main restaurant will offer regional and international gourmet cuisine. A revolving restaurant on the top of the floor of the hotel tower is planned for 2015 opening and will provide an "all-around" experience under the dining concept Kitchen by Rausch, in partnership with the renowned chefs, Rausch Brothers.
