Hanoi - August 26, 201 - InterContinental Hanoi Westlake is proud to announce its support and participant to the first ever IHG Green Week along with other IHG properties in the Asia, Middle East and Africa region between 18th and 22nd August 2014.

IHG Green Week is an inspiring initiative by the Intercontinental Hotels Group, which encourages hotels to focus on measuring the impact on the environment, reducing energy, water and waste, cutting down carbon emissions and raising guest and staff awareness of environmental concerns. Through this program, InterContinental Hanoi is committed to conduct Green Engage trainings and bring IHG Green Week to life with activities that benefit the environment.

The management team designed a range of exciting activities to engage all the team members in the process of leading environmental changes, including: Green Engage trainings, building floating treatment wetland, tree planting & watering, complimentary cyclo tours around West Lake, green-themed menus for staff, and encouraging staff and guests to bike, walk or take public transportation. “Going green is an approach that is based on our commitment to the triple bottom line of profit, people and planet. Our local footprint does not only focus on building a better economic wealth for our people but also on environmental concerns”, says Adam McDonald, General Manager.

InterContinental Hanoi Westlake also created opportunities for guests to be engaged in the IHG Green Week. “We believe that our guests are becoming increasingly concerned with environmental issues and are making more environmentally conscious decisions when choosing to stay with us. They share the same values as we do so it's important to involve and inspire them to build a better community”, Adam McDonald remarked.
