Hotel Equities Breaks Ground on 92-rooom Residence Inn by Marriott Lake Charles, LA

Atlanta, GA - August 20, 2014 - Atlanta-based Hotel Equities broke ground recently on the 92-room Residence Inn by Marriott in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The new-build hotel will be located at1591 West Prien Road, beside the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, also managed by Hotel Equities.(www.hotelequities.com)

"We are happy to add a second property to our successful operation of the SpringHill Suites in the vibrant and growing Lake Charles market," said Joe Reardon, Vice President of Business Development for HE. "We are pleased to work with an ownership group who has such an entrepreneurial vision and a commitment to building another great hotel in the community."

Mrs. Evette Gradney, of LA Creole Hospitality, welcomed guests to the groundbreaking event. After the invocation by Evangelist Kerry Bueche, Mrs. Gadney introduced the following distinguished speakers: Stuart Weatherford, City of Lake Charles Councilman, district E; John F. Biagas, of LA Creole Hospitality, Fred Cerrone, Chairman and CEO of Hotel Equities; Shelley Johnson, Executive Director, LC/SWLA Convention & Visitors Bureau; Avon Knowlton, Executive Vice President, SWLA Economic Development Alliance; and Randy Roach, City of Lake Charles Mayor.

Other elected officials, members of the Lake Charles Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau also attended. Following the program, guests witnessed a ceremonial groundbreaking in the lot adjacent to the SpringHill Suites hotel.

Biagas, Managing Member of LA Creole Hospitality 1 and BDK Associates, owner of both the SpringHill Suites by Marriott and the Residence Inn by Marriott in Lake Charles. The Residence Inn Lake Charles will include studio rooms as well as one and two-bedroom suites. Guest may enjoy a food and beverage market, guest laundry, board room, exercise room and an outdoor pool & spa. The rooms feature an efficient full kitchen, a large one-compartment bathroom with walk-in shower, a comfortable work or relax sitting area and a desk area with room to spread out and work in comfort.
