DUBLIN, Ohio - August 11, 2014 - The Crowne Plaza Columbus - Dublin Hotel has completed a property-wide transformation of its guestrooms and suites, meeting and event spaces, lobby, restaurant, fitness center and public spaces as the full-service Dublin hotel is completely transformed to meet the needs of meetings, individual business travelers and weekend sports groups.

Now under the management of Interstate Hotel & Resorts, the long-time hotel in Dublin's Metro Place Business Park has turned a new page by investing close to $35,000 per guestroom and an additional $3 million for the remainder of the facelift to create a modern, sophisticated hotel experience befitting one of the area's largest, full-service properties.

"The renovation of this hotel is pivotal in our efforts to remain competitive with corporate, association and government groups considering the area," notes Scott Dring, CDME, APR executive director of the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The 215-room Crowne Plaza Columbus - Dublin, one of the area's three full-service hotels, is located at 600 Metro Place N. off the I-270 Columbus outer belt, just minutes from Ashland, IBM, Honda, Cardinal Health and several other local companies. It also is popular with business travelers from Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and other drive markets.

Each of the property's guestroom types (standard rooms, larger junior suites and sky light rooms with elevated ceilings) have been completely transformed with a new bedding package, part of Crowne Plaza's Sweet Advantage program, new bathrooms, furnishings, carpeting, lighting, art and wall coverings. The property also offers an impressive five-bedroom Presidential Suite.

Guestrooms include an in-room Keurig coffee maker and a mini-refrigerator while 15 junior suites are equipped with microwave ovens. The hotel's third floor is designated as a Quiet Zone where housekeeping and engineering services are limited from 9 p.m. - 10 a.m.

Besides the transformation of its guestrooms, the hotel's new look and feel includes the renovation of its 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and the addition of ergonomically designed Hermann Miller chairs making the Crowne Plaza Columbus - Dublin the first hotel in the market to invest in this higher-end feature.

Meeting and event spaces at the hotel include the 6,000-square-foot Grand Dublin Ballroom which accommodates up to 700 guests.

Other updates include a fresh, inviting lobby experience with guest-friendly registration pods; the addition of two connectivity stations where guests can charge mobile devices, all-new fiber-optic connectivity throughout the hotel, an expanded health club twice its previous size; enhancements to the three-meal Dublin Metro Grill and the Dublin Metro Bar; and updates to the hotel's exterior, courtyard and indoor pool.

Dublin's first full-service hotel once co-owned by Dave Thomas of Wendy's, the Crowne Plaza Columbus - Dublin is the Co-Host Hotel of the Memorial Golf Tournament and the Host Hotel for Football University Top Gun and the Dublin Irish Festival, among others.
