4-star Boutique Hotel to Anchor Atlas Town Center at Traditions in Bryan, Texas

Centerpiece of Mixed Use Community for Biotech Industry

. July 30, 2014

July 30, 2014 - As the first hotel within Atlas the Atlas will include 177 rooms, a mixture of standard rooms and suites, a sleek restaurant and bar, a wellness spa, a grand ballroom with outdoor function lawn, and meeting rooms. The rooftop outdoor living room will have a water feature and provide unrestricted views of Kyle Field.

The street front location is simply the best within Atlas, with Lake Atlas and its lakeside park just steps away. The hotel will anchor the Atlas Town Center (ATC), which is planned to include waterfront restaurants, retail and office uses, similar to The Woodlands Market Street. The ground-level lobby entrance will be adjacent to a store-front restaurant and cafe.

The hotel will be managed by Trust Hospitality, an award-winning firm that specializes in the operations of high-end, independent properties, currently operating hotels in the United States (including New York and Miami Beach), the Caribbean and Central and South America.

The Atlas will benefit from being part of the growing Trust family of hotels, including The Lord Balfour (Miami Beach), the Hotel Mela (New York), and The Press Hotel (Portland, Maine). FAB Studio of Dallas, Texas will be the architect on the project. Owner, Frank Butler is a '76 grad of A&M. Design Duncan Miller Ullmann ("DesignDMU"), known for their work on Hotel Zaza in Houston and Dallas, will provide interior architectural design services. The lender for the hotel project is Prosperity Bank.

"We anxiously anticipate the opening of a truly unique hotel experience with The Atlas Hotel. It will be a wonderful addition to the Bryan, Texas landscape and will especially increase the convenience of researchers and other visitors to our biotech development area," says Jason Bienski, Mayor of Bryan, Texas.

Atlas, a 200-acre, mixed use community, is the commercial district of Traditions, a master planned community in Bryan/College Station, featuring a Nicklaus-design 18-hole golf course.

Situated in both Bryan and College Station, Atlas is the epicenter of the region's emerging One Health Plus Biocorridor. More than a corporate campus, Atlas and the Atlas Town Center are being designed as a pedestrian friendly, wellness focused community designed to offer professionals and families a respite from the hustle and bustle of the student-oriented retail, restaurant and housing that dominates the region.

"Novel partnerships across government, industry, and academia have been essential for establishing the Texas A&M BioCorridor. Now, Atlas, is bringing to life the vibrant innovation environment necessary to transform Texas into the 'third coast in biotechnology,'" said Brett P. Giroir, M.D., chief executive officer of Texas A&M Health Science Center.

Walking distance from The Atlas is the world headquarters of Nutrabolt Distribution (www.cellucor.com), Caliber Biotherapeutics, and a $94 million vaccine production facility currently under development. Traditions Club and the Texas A&M Golf Teams clubhouse and practice area will be visible from The Atlas, located immediately on the other side of Lake Atlas. Just down HSC Parkway with direct access to ATLAS is the Texas A&M Health Science Center, home to the University's schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health. Easterwood Airport is less than two miles away. The bulk of the Texas A&M Campus is within four miles of the site, with the Vet School, the new $32 million Equine Complex, Mays Business School, the Texas A&M Research Park, the National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing and the Texas Institute of Preclinical Studies all being within 2.5 miles.
